Play by These Rules and You Could be a More Effective Leader
A recent article in the Denver
Business Journal, dictated that to be an effective leader today
"it takes at least five specific rules of management that must
be executed simultaneously. Omitting just one will result in subpar
performance for both the leader and subordinates." Don't
miss a step, checkout the five essential rules.
PMI®
Lowers Passing Score of PMP® Exam
After reviewing more than 800 test scores from its new PMP exam,
PMI has decided to adjust the passing score for the exam to 61 percent,
down from the original passing point of 81 percent. Candidates who
did not pass the new exam have had their test re-scored using the
adjusted passing score.
Principals
Co-Chair IIBA Body of Knowledge Review Committee
Elizabeth Larson and Richard Larson have been selected
to co-chair the Review Committee for the International Institute
of Business Analysis Body
of Knowledge.
IIBA President, Kathleen Barret, shared IIBA's appreciation for
Watermark's involvement by stating that "Watermark has has
been a strong supporter of IIBAs goals, especially through
its sponsorship of chapters in both Minneapolis and Phoenix. Both
Elizabeth and Richard saw the Review Committee as a great opportunity
to expand their support into an even more critical area for the
IIBA and volunteered to take on this significant task. They have
put together their plan and are well on their way."
Watch for Elizabeth Larson and Richard Larson's "From The
Top" column in the January 2006 issue of PMI's PM
Network Magazine. The column discusses the importance
of "Practicing What We Preach," that is, using
project management to improve Watermark Learning's own organizational
efficiencies.
Watermark Learning
will have an article
entitled "How to Create a Clear Project Plan in Six Easy
Steps included in the upcoming IT Project
Management Readings book published by
Dr. Gary Richardson, University of Houston.

Tip
Data Modeling
Data requirements need to be gathered and documented for most
software projects. Whether the process is done in your organization
by a business analyst, data analyst, database administrator,
or whomever. Whether your organization calls it data modeling,
data requirements, logical data design, or whatever. These
important requirements support and complement the more obvious
business processes that can be documented with process models,
use case models and others. Read
