Position: Sales Manager

Department: Sales
Reports to: Vice President of Sales and Delivery
Type: Full Time

Responsibilities:

This position is a combination of both sales and sales management. Candidate will be responsible for the development and performance of all sales related activities within their designated territory. Staffs and directs a sales team and provides leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with company vision and values. Establishes plans and strategies to expand the customer base, working closely with the marketing department.

BASIC DUTIES:

  • Sales Management
    • Develops a business plan and sales strategy that enables the company sales goals and profitability are met
    • Responsible for the performance and development of the Account Managers
    • Initiates and coordinates development of action plans to follow up on lead, prospects and to penetrate new markets.
    • Assists in the development and implementation of marketing plans as needed
    • Conducts one-on-one review with all Account Managers to build more effective communications, to understand training and development needs, and to provide insight for the improvement of Account Managers sales and activity performance
    • Provides timely feedback to Vice President of Sales and Operations regarding performance of sales team and overall company.
    • Conducts and/or reviews all proposal presentations and RFP responses
    • Controls sales related expenses to meet budget guidelines
    • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
    • Implements the new CRM package with assistance from the Vice President of Sales and Operations
    • Administers CRM package once implemented
    • Recruits, tests, and hires Account Managers based on criteria agreed upon by Vice President of Sales and Operations
  • Sales
    • Sell Watermark Learning products and services to assigned markets on a program per class or curriculum basis
    • Research, call and recruit new clients.
    • Develop proposals and presentations to earn new business.
    • Attend tradeshows as exhibitor as needed.
    • Follow up with clients after training to ensure satisfaction.
    • Act as a liaison between client, instructor and management.
    • Maintain territory (client/prospect) information consistent with Watermark Learning policies and procedures.
    • Ensure consistent quality service to clients, including helping initiate local classes.
    • Communicate status of classes and participate in proactive measure to ensure positive training results, such as gathering complete requirements in advance.
    • Provide regular input to senior management on industry trends

ADVANCED DUTIES - in addition to the above, a superior performer will:

  • Assist Vice President of Sales in the implementation to new CRM package

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years experience in Sales (training and development industry a plus!)
  • 3+ years experience in Sales Management
  • Strong demonstrated project management skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to grasp the big picture and also attend to the details

Position: Marketing/Products Coordinator

Department: Marketing
Reports to: Marketing Director (President)
Type: Full Time

Responsibilities:

This position works under general supervision, and is responsible for providing support to the marketing and sales departments within Watermark Learning. The overall goal of this position is to assist the Marketing Director to generate training and product leads, position and promote the company’s products and services, conduct marketing campaigns, and perform ongoing functions that support the Watermark Learning brand.

BASIC DUTIES:

  • Lead Acquisition and Nurturing
    • Events
      • Coordinates all events (webinars, presentations, and trade shows) to ensure maximum PR value.
      • Updates internal calendars and databases with event information for events.
      • Using our webinar tool, sets up webinars, manages poll/seed questions, and provides after-webinar support. Moderates webinars.
      • Works with the Operations department to ship materials to events.
    • Drip Campaigns
      • Working with speakers and bloggers, gathers items of interest for the prospects (e.g., articles, templates, blog entries, etc.), and sends emails and materials to past event attendees as a group.
      • Sends periodic emails to product purchasers to encourage full use of products and to encourage buying other products.
      • Contacts IIBA/PMI chapters to encourage them to buy our products.
    • Other
      • Compiles reports on: events, drip campaigns, and research.
      • Sends routine periodic surveys to class registrants, COSE subscribers, general prospects, etc. and reports on survey results.
  • Communications
    • Web Site
      • Content. Updates content, events, resources, news, etc. on web site. Works with web designer for creating new pages. Monitors Watermark Learning site for outdated info, bad links, etc. Be the backup for webmaster.
      • SEO.
        • Conducts inbound linking campaigns, such as sending offers to IIBA and PMI chapters to link to our resources. Monitor and report on inbound links: e.g., affiliates and PMI/IIBA chapters linking to us, and report on discrepancies and opportunities.
        • Compiles and distributes reports on web statistics: page rankings, keyword popularity, popular page requests, and the four major statistics.
        • Recommends changes to keywords to improve page rankings.
      • Blog Administrator: proofs blogs, adds tags and keywords, obtains photos, publishes blogs, monitors comments
    • eNews and Email Blasts
      • Calls for and gathers all eNews items: articles, tips, classes, events, industry news, etc. Drafts the initial content for eNews and gets edits and revisions into a final form for emailing.
      • Works closely with Sales to develop emails to promote specific classes.
      • Schedules and sends out the eNews and other emailings to designated email addresses for eNews and email blasts, including monthly VILT classes and webinar promotions.
    • Other
      • Literature. Assists graphics designer in updating and creating of literature.
      • Maintains editorial calendar, including blogs; provides direction to bloggers on keywords.
      • Social Media. Generates wording for sales and others to use for social media posts (events, publicity, products, etc.). Posts entries to company groups on LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.
      • Compiles reports on: ad campaigns, landing pages, email blast stats, ad tracking, Google ad words.
  • Product Support
    • Find New Channels.
      • Recruits new affiliates to re-sell our products.
      • Adds new online sales outlets (e.g., Google Books).
    • Manage Existing Channels.
      • Maintain Amazon and other bookstore product descriptions.
      • Fill orders for IIBA and PMI chapters using products.
      • Monitor product descriptions on other bookstores.
      • Manage Affiliate program (currently fewer than 5).
      • Monitors use of our logo, company descriptions, etc. on partner websites and reports on discrepancies and new opportunities for placement.
    • Other.
      • Until automated, sends routine renewal prompts to product subscribers.
      • Respond to routine requests to the MarketingInfo mailbox.
      • Supports the launch of new products, including announcements, promotions, interfacing with distributors like Amazon.com, and maintaining records. May assist with competitive analyses prior to launch.
  • General
    • Maintain documentation for all marketing projects and processes following company standards, including maintaining a Marketing reference manual
    • Assists in researching premiums and suggesting new ones.
    • Additional duties as assigned.

ADVANCED DUTIES - in addition to the above, a superior performer will:

    • Researches high-potential prospective customers and provides to the sales team to contact.
    • Coordinates the launch of new products.
    • Find and recommend article placement opportunities and facilitate placing the articles.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Marketing, Business, or a related field
  • 5+ years experience in Marketing/Advertising
  • Strong demonstrated project management skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
