PMI® Launches NEW Credential

Introducing the PMI Risk Management
Professional (PMI-RMPsm)

The PMI-RMPsm credential certifies individual's knowledge and experience in the specialty area of project risk management. PMI's near-term objective is to secure at least 100 approved risk management credential candidates to take the examination during the incentive period of August 29 and October 31, 2008. This will enable PMI® to establish an official cut-score in a timely fashion. The eligibility for this credential includes the need for 30 contact hours of education in project risk management. Eligible candidates are asked to begin the application process, register for classes, and start studying now so they can meet the eligibility requirements. For more information, visit Career Development section of the PMI® website. If you have any questions, contact customercare@pmi.org (+1-610-356-4600).

PMI® Announces Changes to PMP®Credential Holders' Expiration Dates

Currently, all PMP® credential holders expire on December 31st, three years after an individual earns the credential. With this change, PMP® credential holders will be assigned a new PMP® expiration date that corresponds with the anniversary date of the bestowal of their credential. The result is a simplification of the PMP® certification cycle. The transition to the new system will begin in late August 2008. Click here to learn more.
