For those of us who have been given imposing deadlines that often seem arbitrary and unreasonable, managing requirements is one of the last things we want to do on a project. However, requirements management is critical to the outcome of every project.This article provides an overview of requirements management and describes the requirements framework and associated knowledge areas. It also details the activities in requirements planning, describes components of a Requirements Management Plan, and explains how to negotiate for the use of requirements management tools, such as the Requirements Traceability Matrix to “get the project done on time.”

CBAP™ Computer-Based Testing Launches September 1, 2008

On September 1, 2008, the IIBA™ will launch computer-based testing of the CBAP™ exam at dedicated test centers around the world. This will allow approved applicants to take the CBAP™ exam at convenient times and locations. Applicants must submit their application package to the IIBA™ and be approved prior to registering for the exam. Once an application is approved, the applicant will be provided with a user ID and password to register online for the test center and test date of their choice.
