Effective project change control entails two things: controlling performance and managing change. Developing a change management plan to handle both types of inevitable change is key to setting expectations with stakeholders. It doesn’t have to be complicated. It doesn’t have to be excessive. It just needs to work for the the stakeholders, the project, and the organization.

This course covers the critical steps to developing a comprehensive and appropriately-scaled approach to project change control. You will put together a plan to handle change requests as well as control performance. Hands-on work with decomposition and a variety of estimating techniques provide input into developing a schedule. Project closing is also covered as a means of integrating lessons learned into current and future projects, as well as controlling project change. Participants should plan on engaging in many group exercises to practice concepts taught.
