Building Business Capability Report – 2013

BBC13_baselogoThe 2013 Building Business Capability Conference, held November 11-15 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, exceeded all expectations. There was record attendance of over 1,500 business analysts and business process management professionals. We hope you were able to attend and visit Watermark Learning at Booth 300 among the sponsor exhibits. We were once again proud to support the conference by being a Gold Level Sponsor. Our presentations connected with attendees, too. Elizabeth Larson presented on 7 Ways to Build Trust for Effective Requirements Elicitation and Bob Prentiss on The da Vinci Principles: What it Really Takes to be a Leader in BA, as well as a session on IIBA chapter leadership. If your company or IIBA or PMI chapter is interested in either topic, please contact me. IMG_20131125_181436_163As always, people had the opportunity to learn more about our training services and register for prizes. Our grand prize winner of the Microsoft Surface® tablet was Roberto Liendo of Indianapolis. Here he is is putting the Microsoft Surface® tablet he won to good use. If you didn’t get a chance at BBC and would like to learn more about our services and products, please contact us. We also received some great feedback about the short quiz we asked people to fill out. Our hope was for attendees to learn a bit more about Watermark Learning. We’re pleased that so many attendees found our quiz fun and informative. We encourage you to find out even more about us, so please visit our web site. I’d suggest using one of these sections as starting points for our various services, resources, and classes:

BBC Booth Interaction 01   BBC 2013 Attendee Winners plus CA, EL, RL

Many of you who are certified as CBAPs or CCBAs (or in the process) stopped by to connect. We’re happy you did and to hear how our products and classes helped you. Congratulations if you achieved your BA certification, a well-deserved milestone! If you get a chance please shoot us an email to tell your certification story. We are always delighted to hear if we played a part in your success. We have video from several CBAPs about what their certification has meant to them. Watch for the release of the assembled video soon. That’s about it from BBC 2013. Hope you can join us at BBC 2014, scheduled for November 2-6 in sunny Floriday. We are signed up as a Gold Sponsor again! P.S. We’re still looking for authors. Watermark Learning launched a search for authors at BBC this year. Our Publications unit is expanding and we are seeking top authors interested in publishing their BA, PM, BPM, or related work with us. We can get you published and help you earn more. If you’d like to discuss what this can mean for you, please contact me via email.
